Project Overview

Urban Eats is a popular food delivery app that connects users with a wide range of local restaurants, allowing them to order their favorite dishes for delivery or pickup. This UX case study aims to highlight the improvements made to enhance the user experience and address user pain points.

Problem statement

Urban Eats had been facing several usability and user engagement issues, leading to a drop in customer retention rates and a rise in customer complaints. Users reported difficulties in navigating the app, discovering new restaurants, and customizing their orders.

The main challenge was to improve overall usability and create a seamless, delightful experience for users.

I conducted interviews with a diverse group to understand their pain points, simultaneously studying similar food delivery apps to identify industry best practices and potential areas for differentiation. To gain insights into specific issues with current market apps, I conducted a series of usability tests with existing users.

I revamped the app's information architecture to streamline navigation, featuring trending restaurants and user favorites on the reorganized homepage. The design incorporated a cleaner, more intuitive interface, introducing a simplified and visually appealing order customization process. Ensuring a consistent user experience, these improvements were implemented across both iOS and Android platforms.

Conclusion
